Information mono handles

mono stores these values in Chrome’s local extension storage:

• appearance preferences: grayscale, manual dark mode, and whether dark mode follows the system;
• the current local calendar date and a SHA-256 hash of the first Google Doc or Sheet ID used that day, solely to enforce the one-document daily free allowance;
• if you activate a purchase, the Gumroad license key you enter and a minimal entitlement record containing validity, the last successful check time, and Gumroad as the source.

The daily record does not contain a document title, full URL, document content, spreadsheet values, Google account information, or browsing history. mono does not collect analytics, crash telemetry, advertising identifiers, buyer email, order details, or payment-card information.

Transmission and sharing

Appearance settings and the daily access record never leave Chrome’s local extension storage.

When you explicitly activate a purchase, or when a paid entitlement is due for a periodic recheck, mono sends only the license key to https://mono-licence.thesanderbell.workers.dev/. The Cloudflare Worker adds mono’s public Gumroad product ID and sends those two values to Gumroad’s license-verification API. The Worker reduces Gumroad’s response to a valid/invalid result and never returns buyer, receipt, or order details to the extension.

Gumroad processes purchases and license verification under its own terms and privacy practices. Cloudflare provides the Worker infrastructure. mono does not sell information or use it for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes.

Storage and retention

The daily hash is replaced when mono next grants a free document on a new local calendar day. Preferences, the optional license key, and the entitlement record remain until replaced, Chrome clears the extension’s data, or mono is removed. Removing mono removes its local storage.

Permissions

• The exact Google Docs and Google Sheets host permissions let the packaged content script apply the selected appearance on those two products only.
• storage saves appearance, daily access, and optional entitlement values locally.
• The exact mono Worker host permission lets the extension service worker verify a license. It does not give the Worker access to Google Docs, Sheets, or browsing data.

Your choices

You can change appearance settings from the popup. You can use one free Doc or Sheet each local day without buying. Clearing mono’s Chrome storage removes its saved settings, daily record, and activation. A valid Gumroad key can be entered again to restore a purchase.
