Help when you need it
Support
Questions, setup trouble, or something that does not look right? We are here to help.
Orb runs locally on your Mac. Please do not send your .codex
folder, session files, credentials, prompts, or responses when asking
for support.
Orb cannot find usage data
Make sure Codex is installed, signed in, and has been used at least
once. Then open Orb’s menu-bar menu, choose
Choose Codex Folder…, and select the
.codex folder in your home directory.
Orb needs read-only access to that folder because the Mac App Store sandbox does not allow an app to browse it without your permission.
The number looks stale
Orb reads local usage records first. Some long-running Codex tasks keep working after their standard-meter record stops advancing, so Orb can ask the signed helper inside your installed Codex app for the current meter.
Choose Refresh Now from Orb’s menu. If the number remains stale, confirm that the official Codex app is installed, signed in, and online, then use Codex once and refresh again.
The orb is hidden or hard to reach
Click the Orb icon in the menu bar and choose Show Orb. The same menu contains size, opacity, always-on-top, and click-through controls. If click-through is enabled, use the menu-bar icon to regain control.
