Orb for Codex processes Codex usage snapshots locally on your Mac. It does not collect analytics, show ads, or send your usage data to us.
Who we are
Orb for Codex (the “App”) is offered on the Mac App Store by 100K31D D.O.O. (“100k31d”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This policy explains how the App and our optional support channel handle information.
Information the App processes
With your permission, the App scans local JSONL session files in the
Codex data folder on your Mac to locate technical
token_count.rate_limits records. Only matching technical
records are decoded. They may include usage percentages, reset and
observation times, plan and meter identifiers, credits or allowance
status, and usage-window metadata.
The App does not interpret, store, or transmit your prompts, responses, tool output, project files, credentials, or authentication tokens. File names and modification times are used locally only to find the newest available technical record.
If the selected local meter is stale, or when you explicitly refresh, the App may invoke the signed helper included with the official Codex app installed on your Mac. That helper uses your existing Codex sign-in to request current rate limits directly from OpenAI. The App verifies the helper’s OpenAI code signature, disables helper plugins and analytics, and reads only the returned rate-limit fields. The App does not decode, copy, or store your credentials.
For the optional Show and Hide with Codex behavior, the App checks locally whether a compatible Codex application is running. That application state is not retained or transmitted.
Local storage
The App stores preferences on your Mac, such as appearance, window position, and behavior settings. It also stores a macOS security-scoped bookmark so it can remember the Codex folder you selected and retain read-only access across launches and updates.
This information remains on your device until you reset the App, remove its data, or uninstall it.
For a live meter refresh, the signed Codex helper writes its own technical state inside the App’s sandbox. It receives temporary read-only access to the existing Codex authentication file for that request; the temporary reference is removed when the request ends.
Support communications
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the message, screenshots, or other information you choose to provide. Support is optional and the App does not send this information automatically. We use it only to answer your request, troubleshoot the issue, prevent abuse, and maintain appropriate support records.
Support email may be processed by service providers that operate our email service. We do not sell it or use it for advertising. We retain support correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes or to meet legal obligations. You may request deletion by emailing us, subject to any information we must retain for legal or security reasons.
Data collection and sharing
We do not receive your Codex usage data. The App contains no advertising or analytics SDKs and does not sell or share personal information.
The App does not upload usage data or connect to our servers. A live meter refresh is made by the installed Codex helper directly to OpenAI and is handled under OpenAI’s privacy terms. If you choose a website, privacy-policy, terms, support, or official usage link, macOS opens it in your default browser. The destination then handles the ordinary web request under its own privacy terms.
Apple may process download, purchase, diagnostic, or App Store data under its own privacy policy. That processing is controlled by Apple, not by the App.
Your choices
You choose whether to grant access to your Codex folder. You can revoke that access by resetting the App’s permissions or removing the App. Without folder access, the App cannot display current Codex usage.
You can disable automatic refresh, Launch at Login, and the optional Codex-following behavior from the App’s menu at any time.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App changes. The current version and its effective date will always be available on this page.
